Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention the athlete by name, shared a series of photos on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. Jones did say the person involved was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the team selected in the second round.
Official Complaints Reportedly Not on File
No official complaints were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have taken place.
Player's Prior Off-Field Troubles
Rice missed the initial part of this NFL campaign following an league-mandated ban for his involvement in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that left several individuals injured. Rice was sentenced 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
Statistically, he finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Kansas City went 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first time in a ten-year span.
